I get this message randomly, and it just happened again. I can go on fine now, but every once a while it shuts everything down then says that my current boot is not fully supported. What's wrong?

My mother board is Asus M597 r2.0

And I have windows 8.1.

Is there anything else you need? I'm trying to boot with my hard drive. It's a WD blue 1 tb.

I looked it up and it said something about flashing bios or updating it. Will that work? Will I have to buy my OS again? I really don't want to considering it was $129 and I don't have the money anymore and I won't have it for a long time. How do I go about flashing/updating my bios?

to update ur bios u just need a utility programm that comes (at list that;s with gigabyte) with the motherboard, BUT if u going to update ur bios u MUST make sure that u won't run out of power, you know black out or something, if that happends and u don;t have a back up u are more screwed up...

I think there is an option at bios that can do that thing but i dunno details and i think you can download new version of bios from asus site (since u have an asus mobo). Go at asus site and check at ur mobo if there is any option about download new version of bios!

You should be able to go to the manufacturers website and find the UEFI for your board. Most UEFI boards support updating from within windows, but I've had better luck throwing the files on a thumb drive and updating from within the UEFI.

Hey there, I am sorry to hear about your issue. What I would suggest is to check the SATA cables, because the motherboard might have issues detecting the hard drive.

You can disconnect them from the HDD and the motherboard as well as the power from the HDD and plug them back in.

You can also try plugging the SATA cable into a different port on the motherboard.

Another thing you could do is run Data Lifeguard Diagnostics to check if everything is fine with the hard drive itself.

Below you can find a link to the WD website where you can download the software.

Hope this helps.
