So, I have had my current XFX R9 290 for almost a month, and I have only one problem with it: random Blue Screen Of Death's.

They seem to happen randomly, the day before yesterday I was watching Youtube, and during one 20-minute video I got 2 BSODs, and yesterday when I was playing League of Legends with my friend, I got BSOD during loading screen.

I have read that there is something wrong with 2D clock, and it needs to be set higher to avoid BSODs, but I have never touched those things. So should I try flashing my 290 into X or what? And all my other parts in PC are working properly, PSU is Corsair RM850 so the GPU gets enough power.

Have you tried using Afterburner and messing around with the 2D profiles to give higher clocks? Try that as flashing your card can brick it if it goes wrong.

You can't flash an R9 290 into R9 290X that was stopped a while back, try contacting XFX support about it, maybe check GPU temps and the clockspeeds of your GPU core, Memory frequency and the GPU voltage.

Voltages are at stock, and temperatures 70-75 while gaming and around 80-82 while bitmining. I only increased core clock with 20-50Mhz.

I had the same problem before, Seems like I fixed it.

What is the blue screen error?

Are you using a ASUS motherboard, do you have AI Suite installed?

If you need it, update it to the latest version.

In Google chrome, have you disable hardware acceleration?

Go into settings, score down and you should see systems, uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available."

Install the latest drivers or if you already have, reinstall them. I use DDU to remove the AMD drivers completely.

When installing the drivers, you want to click Custom install, copy what I did.

The programs I unchecked are things you shouldn't need, if you need it. then check it but keep ACP application and AMD accelerated video transcoding unchecked..

You must "Quote" to get my attention.
