hey guys i want to make a couple of minor changes to my build and was wondering if you guys could maybe with some tips and thoughts (assuming im providing you with the right info)

i got a crosair h80(stock fans) to cool my 3770k cpu first of .. obviously i want to swap fans :p right now im always running the fans at lowest speed ( as in 1 out of 3 on the pump)

as 2-3 is just sounds like my computer is trying to take off and fly out the window

i was planing on getting the noctua-f12 pwn what im hoping is that i can run the fans on atleast medium .. and it will be more efficient than the current fans but also more quiet at the same time? am i hoping for to much?

also im wondering if there really is a need for 2 of theese? will there be a big enough difference from 1-2 to justify the money and the noise of having an extra fan? and if 1 is enough push or pull? will it be pretty much the same performance wise? ( im assuming pull will be a hell of alot easier to clean and probably gather less dust)

and lastly ... my h80 has the standard annoying god dammn grinding noise ... which you know .. no point in trying to silence fans when it will only make the grinding noise clearer ... do you guys think it might help to undervolt the pump? it might just be a faulty one .. i dont know ..

won't be so easy to return the h80 .. .. as i bought the computer by choosing all the parts i wanted then komplett.no a comp store assembled it for me( never doing this again, going to set it up myself from now on) and returning just the h80 alone would be kinda difficult

i assumed as i was buying it from a store i trusted they would check out the h80 and sort that out for me .. tha'ts why i took the risk of buying it

you might ask why in the hell i would go with a h80.. well i liked the idea of it .. didnt have money to get the h100 and yeah ... thought it would be safe .. reasoning stated above ...

OH! one last thing my case is haf 912 was thinking of trying to buy some sound dampening sheets or something and strategicly place it in the case in a petty attempt to reduce noise and trying not to obstruct airflow any thoughts on this? as .. the case is oretty much an open tin can .. it's sturdy but still :p

Swapping fans would be a great idea. The F12s are good, i haven't had any personal use with them, but they are rated very well for both static pressure (good for use on a radiator) and noise levels - being one of the most silent fans out there. I would suggest you put them in PUSH/PULL config, I certainly noticed a difference when I went push/pull. It create massive changes, but it will help in someway. If you do go for one, pulling then exhaust would be the way i would set it up, as you say it helps with dust build up etc.

As for your grinding noise, it is a known issue with Corsair Hydro Series, so you may have to get an RMA on that. It shouldn't be a problem who you bought it from, you can email RMA@CORSAIR.com and ask them for their advice, but an RMA, direct through corsair would be your best bet instead of going back to the place you bought it from.

I cant say more that dave but I'll try to build on it.

When running push pull you can run the fans slower and still have the same performance and noctua fans are well known for being good under volters.

For the RMA.

You can look on corsairs forum. Look out for a guy named "RAM Guy" He is really the king of that forum and is as good as a representative of corsair on the forums. Besides doing that You could email corsair like dave said but its probably easier/faster to go down the forum route.
