So I have a GTX 780 and 2 displays.  My primary display is running off of DVI-D Duel Link, and my second display is coming from the DVI-I port then being converted to VGA.  (I plan on upgrading my 2nd monitor soon but right now its not in my budget.)  For whatever reason my second monitor is taking priority and so the BIOS and windows 8 boot logo are displaying on that display.  I cannot switch the two inputs because the VGA monitor needs DVI-I.  I have tried running my primary display through all of the other ports but that didn't work either.  Is there any way to change this?  I'm using the Asus Sabertooth Z97 if that makes a difference.

I haven't thought of a good signature yet.

change the ports around that the monitors are in the gpu than when you go into windows just change which monitor is monitor 1 in control panel.

For looks, doesn't matter much really.

I can't change the ports around (reason in original post) and they are all coming from the GPU.  And my primary monitor IS monitor 1 in the control panel.

Good reason! :)

I think the GPU prioritizes the ports when displaying BIOS or windows stuff. I've had this issue before. (and the thing that solved it was a broken 2nd monitor :P )

I have 3 screens and my Post screen doesn't show up on my center #2 monitor. Before I moved, it showed up on screen #1 (left), after I moved my computer it started showing up on my #3 screen.

Try booting with different combinations of screens plugged in.

Other than that, the only solution I know of is to swap the positions of the displays themselves. Which I am guessing is not desirable.
