Hello, my issue is that i cant control my cpu fan speed from bios or with software (tried most of them), i got Asus M5A99FX evo r2.0 and 8350 with stock cooler. My fan speed is constant around 3400rpm I tried enabling Q-fan control with all kind of settings and nothing, disabling it makes fan go to 3000rpm. Fan doesn't speed up or slow down no matter what the CPU temp is, but i noticed that on a hot day when a mb temp is around 40°C the fan goes to almost at full speed (5000rpm).

Is MB temp controlling the fan speed? Whats going on here?

Anyway i had to disable turbo mode on cpu and now temps dont go over 63(socket)/56(cores) on full load.

your lastest bios update was of 2014/05/14. you can find all of the latest drivers including bios here

as for you fan its what is called a PWM fan and in short the yes the motherboard is auto controlling it and i would recommend to leave it that way. as it will give you the best noise to temp(performance) ratio. if the motherboard i misses reading the temps and has the fan running to high to bios update should correct it. if after the bios update the fan is still running loud and super fast it because you stock cooler is doing a poor job cooling (like most stock coolers) and i recommend you get a aftermarket cooler.

cpu coolers:

the cheapest and most well known would be the 212 evo.

but i like the silverstone ar01 usually about 5$ more then the 212. i find it well worth the 5$ its slightly more quiet and you get better temp.

other then those two i would use either a noctua-d14 or a true spirit which ever is cheaper. they run between 60-90$ on ebay and the cost is always changing. but these are the so called kings of air cooling.
