Restart your computer, update iTunes...Should work really.

There are third-party utilities but all worse than iTunes imo... If you're only using iTunes to do it once in a while and not normally, then there is no reason to get anything else.

I am compleatly new to apple devices and how they work so does anyone know how to sync my music to an iphone 1and and or an ipod clasic gen 4 20 Gb?  I tried to use itunes and it will not work  There is no sign that my laptop even dectecs the device?  I know the cord is still good because i lent it to a friend at the last lan event i was at and it worked just fine then.  Have i done something wrong or is apple being dumb?  And better yet is there a way to not use itunes and use a diffrent program to sync stuff to i-devies.

any information will be helpful thanks much
