Hi all !

I am going to build a new gaming pc and have a few questions

MB: Asus Z87-PRO

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz/5GT/s/6MB (BX80646I54670K)

GPU: Zotac PCI-Ex GeForce GTX 780 OC 3GB GDDR5 (384bit) (941/6008) (2x DVI, HDMI, DP) (ZT-70206-10P)

RAM: Kingston DDR3-1600 8192MB PC3-12800 HyperX FURY Red (HX316C10FR/8)

CASE: Aerocool Xpredator X1 White (EN57080)

Temporary i will use this hdd - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148764

Question is:

I have an old Chieftec CTG-550-80P  (550Watt). Can it handle this system?

And sorry for my English, i am from Ukraine =)

You'll defnitely want to upgrade that PSU. Here's my recommendation:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-ATX12V-Supply-120-G1-0750-XR/dp/B00K85X2A2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409357864&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+700w

Edit: You may also want to wait for the GTX 800 series for 2 reasons, if you go with a GTX 800 series card you'll get better performance for the same amount of money, also if you decided not to get a GTX 800 series GPU at that point the GTX 700 series will have likely dropped in price a fair amount.

CPU: R5 5800X3D Motherboard - MSI X570 Gaming Plus RAM - 32GB Corsair DDR4 GPU - XFX 7900 XTX 4GB Case - NZXT H5 Flow (White) Storage - 2X 4TB Samsung 990 Pro PSU - Corsair RM100E Cooling - Corsair H100i Elite Capellix Keyboard Corsair K70 (Brown Switches)  Mouse - Corsair Nightsword RGB

It is doubtful that the Chieftec psu will handle the load.

The case will not support taller cpu coolers like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

If you can get a 2x4GB memory kit with better timings. Either DDR3-1600 CAS <= 9 or DDR3-1866 CAS <= 10.

If the i5-4690K is available it would be a better choice for cpu, provided it wasn't much more expensive. Unless you need the WiFi you might consider the Asus Z97-A motherboard if it is available.

It is no way that any type of hardware will drop in price in our country. Here is war now and prices only raises. Thanks for advise with psu.

This case is okay. I am not planning do extreme overclocking or something like this. Now i have AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE and it works perfect with stock cooler on 4.2 Hhz.

http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz

Memory Types DDR3-1333/1600

Is it not pointless to use 1866 memory sticks ? It will be work in 1600 or no ?

This memory is ok i assume - Kingston DDR3-1600 8192MB PC3-12800 (Kit of 2x4096MB) HyperX Genesis Na'Vi Edition (KHX16C9C2K2/8)

Timings are  9-9-9

DDR3-1866 can work at DDR3-1866. The simplest way is to enable an XMP profile in the BIOS. On most Z97 motherboards one can also set various memory timing and power parameters.

XMP memory is certified by Intel to work with their cpu. So on the one hand Intel says the memory controller will support up to 1600 but in reality it will support much higher speeds (and voltages). http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/extreme-memory-profile-xmp.html

Most commonly available DDR3 memory kits are XMP certified.

Thank you for explanation. Kingston DDR3-1866 8192MB PC3-15000 (Kit of 2x4096) HyperX Predator (KHX18C9T2K2/8X) should be good and it supports XMP.

I need a good motherboard under $210. WiFi is not key feature but it will be good. Maybe Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 will be good ?

MB with Z97 chipset that supports wifi are over $250 and it is expensive.

I thought about AMD fx8350 but i think it is no sence in 8 cores in games. It will be much more cheaper system but i want to try 4th gen i5.

Is the Asus Z97-Pro(Wi-Fi ac) over $210? If so you may as well go with something like the Z97-A and a PCIe WiFi card.

Yes. In Ukraine Asus Z97-Pro (WiFi) is $260. Without WiFi it is $150-160.

Z97-A and Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 are using 24 + 8 pin power supply. I think it will be ok if i use Chieftec GPS-700A8 700 W ? This PSU provides 4pin for CPU supply if I'm not mistaken.

Any brands of psu beside Chieftec?
