Hey guys. I'm kinda new to this forum and I really, really would need some help from you guys.

I have some knowledge about computers but not so much.

I am planning on building a PC, more like a workstation. My budget is 2000$ for sure BUT it can add up to 2500$ with no problem so keep that in mind. I been on other forums and all over the internet but can't figure out what I really need. So in this case I will try to explain it to you guys as short as possible.

I play games, but I am not a CRAZY gamer, if you guys know what I mean. Yeah of course I will try all these new games with awesome quality and everything beast which means I would like my PC to handle what I give him, games like battlefield ucpoming one and GTA V, maybe some call of duty games, but all these new games, forget about the old ones. But still I won't be that insane gamer with headphones that will go crazy. I hope you guys understand me perfectly. I will also play counter strike source the new one and the old one, but these are okay, they are not that big of a deal I guess.

Now the second part. I also am a graphic designer, I'm not working for a company or so I just do this as my hobby and I love it. This is what I'm gunna do you know. I'm also 17 y/o.

Most programs I use are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and so on. Sometimes I feel like doing some VFX work or just animations and I might try it out and use Cinema 4d or/and After Effects and all this heavy stuff but I am not proffessional at all which means it will take me time but still, in case I will do stuff, I want my computer to be able to handle it.

Also I will use probably Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas stuff which means...hmmmm some rendering.

So, to summarize this, I need a PC under 2500$ that will handle latest games and serve as a good workstation, especially for photoshop/premiere, I never want to see my PC struggling with it.

So if this won't be a problem guys, I have some requirements:

I would like a Intel processor.
A full tower in case I decide to upgrade.
*minium RAM 16 GB.
Not more than 2TB of hard disk or if its a nice price then why not more than 2 TB.
A ssd would be fine for the system and stuff you know, something like a * Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB * just an example, an SSD for a fast memory I guess, you guys know better.

If you guys can, a mice/keyboard included, not cheap sh*t but not expensive sh*t, just decent keyboard and mice.

I don't care about the graphics card as long as it's going to handle the games and the 3D stuff I will work with.

Also I would like in the cooling system in the whole PC  NOT to be with water/liquid cooling.

( yes I know I could do all this by myself if I already wrote too much but I just want to make sure it will handle both of these stuff I told you guys and be able to upgrade for more years, especially the motherboard has to be a really good one.

I'm really sorry if this is too much I want and everything but I would REALLY REALLY BE THANKFUL TO YOU GUYS IF YOU CREATE ME A GOOD ASS PC.

Thank you again !

This should do you fine! It's a pretty high-end system, and has everything :)

The motherboard is really high quality and should last you for a long time, and even has automatic overclocking.

If you want to you could upgrade to the 49xx but I think that's overkill

The Keyboard and Mouse are gaming-oriented, but personally I'm happy with a $20 KB/Mouse combo (that's just me though a lot of other people would feel otherwise)

I got you the most reliable SSD out there right now (Intel is legendary for this) and an excellent case

HDD choice was unusual, but it should do you fine. (you could've gone for 4TB at that price.

If you want my opinion I think this is quite a bit for a PC, especially if it's not going to earn you money, and you're only 17 ._.

If you change your mind and want something closer to $1600 or something you could reply to this

Also remember keep future posts short and sweet!

Possible cost reductions:

Get a slightly less reliable but still great 240/480GB Samsung 840 EVO if you back up regularly (you still should though)

Move from a Z97 and unlocked processor to maybe a H97 and i7-4970 if you aren't going to OC

Get a $20 KB/Mouse combo instead

if you're migrating from another PC with Windows 7, just take the key from the other PC and save $100

Possible Improvements:

Get a 49XX series processor+LGA 2011 board (12/16 cores of enthusiast-grade awesomeness)

Get another 780Ti

RAID 0 WD Black drives for amazing performance

Has the latest Core i7 CPU from the Haswell refresh line and is cooled by the well renowned H100i by Corsair. Along side that is 32GB of 2133MHz CL10 RAM also from Corsair in the normal Vengeance heatspreader. All that is sitting in the Z97 MPOWER motherboard from MSI which looks good and has a large list of features. And then to add to the yellow theme I put in the most high end GPU (excluding 780 Ti - R9 295X2) which is the 290X with the Lightning cooler from MSI. Then to power all that with room for another 290X down the line is the RM1000 from, again, Corsair. I also put a 2TB Barracuda in there along with a 250GB 840 EVO. And then we come to the case, were everything mentioned beforehand is placed inside, I chose the Enthoo Primo juts because of the endless list of features and expandablility and it also looks stunning.

Then onto the peripherals. All of them are from Func just because I personally love Func and their peripheral line-up is amazing. The HS-260, KB-260 and MS-3 r2 are great items and are really just amazing aesthetically and feature wise.

And I kept that all under $2,300.

Hopefully you like it :D

He doesn't want Liquid cooling though :/

And you missed out an OS ($100 is a lot)

The Peripherals are great though! They're a personal choice so OP should check out everything

I thought that he meant as in a whole system loop. And yeh, probably should have asked if he needs OS before putting a build together lol.

Though you can always get Ubuntu or another Linux based operating system for free ;D, though I'm not sure of the program compatibilities.

And get rid of that case, dude, save at least $100 and get an R4 or a Corsair 450D.

You could get a Scout 2 ghost and it would look amazing. Probably not what you want though, for a mainly editing build.

No gaming on Ubuntu though :(

Yet. As soon as AMD and NVidia get their drivers sorted out, Microsoft will lose the entire PCGamingMasterrace to Linux, because we already have a suitable replacement for DirectX and OpenGL is still there. as soon as the compatibility errors are gone, ah, will we bask in the glory of Open-source operating systems.

he could use the money he saved from not hopping on the phanteks hype train to get another SSD and RAID 0 it with his other one, get almost a GB/s read/write, which would immensely help loading times for editing, caching to RAM and games. Oh, games will fly...

Cases are a personal preference

EDIT: I thought you guys were talking about my suggestion I was wondering why I chose a $240 case for him

oops yeah a ~$100-150 case could be a better use of the budget

if you're migrating from another PC with Windows 7, just take the key from the other PC and save $100

Possible Improvements:
Get a 49XX series processor+LGA 2011 board (12/16 cores of enthusiast-grade awesomeness)
Get another 780Ti
RAID 0 WD Black drives for amazing performance

okay well I won't OC for sure. and there are some parts that I might cut down the price, like little stuff that won't affect the speed and power of the PC. like optical drive, case and cheap mouse and keyboard. and yes I will get for free a win 7, not planning on buying it. and I will think about the options you told me so this way I migh save even more money. that makes sense.

he could use the money he saved from not hopping on the phanteks hype train to get another SSD and RAID 0 it with his other one, get almost a GB/s read/write, which would immensely help loading times for editing, caching to RAM and games. Oh, games will fly...

True, you could RAID the drives to have double the speed, but only the capacity of one or the capacity of both but with the stock read/write speeds.

I've included pretty low priced peripherals (in USD) but they are excellent. I also excluded Windows and a monitor so I was able to get more RAM, an SSD a very high quality PSU.

I'll come back with a build with the Pro instead of the Primo.

Here's the build again, but with the case changed to a Pro and another 840 EVO in there so you can have 500GB of SSD storage or some uber fast 250GB storage.

It is at the top of the budget range. Picking less expensive keyboard and mouse would help a bit. You may wish to wait a week or two until X99/Haswell-E is released. I am suggesting this platform to improve editing & rendering performance.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Then I suggest going down to the 4970, there's no need for any of the Extreme 2011 socket processors since you'll be paying a premium for them, and you might as well save the money for other things, like games and stuff

Or College, or life in general :P

Get a 49XX series processor+LGA 2011 board (12/16 cores of enthusiast-grade awesomeness)

Wasn't your price $2000?

You can do the price reductions that I suggested and see what they do for you

@quality here's the build under $1700

Next time put the correct price, and do a more concise post
