Is there a question here ? Or you just listing a possible spec ? Also why Z77 ? (If you don't already have it)

Don't really care about being out of date...I do have Z77 already. Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge have the most overclocking headroom. Everything since then has just been die shrinks and improved iGPU which just makes the chips hotter and less OC friendly. No questions really...just seeing if anyone will voice their opinions.

I hate Haswell for overclocking. Broadwell sounds promising but I don't want to do that just to end up wanting to upgrade to Skylake the following year. I already owned i7-3770K before in the past so I know what to expect. Ran stable at 4.8GHz with 120mm Thermaltake Water 2.0 PRO. On 280mm with Noctuas I am sure I will be very happy.

I was forced to downgrade because of financial problems. Currently running i5-3350P on ASRock Z77 Extreme4. I will be sacrificing my EVGA GTX 760 to get i7-3770K until October 1st which is my birthday. No Skyrim for me for a couple months. :(

By staying a generation or 2 behind I found that I can save a lot of money...always newer stuff coming out that makes the prices on the older stuff drop. I also used to own an ASUS GTX 670 TOP and I miss that too, it was more silent than the EVGA GTX 760.
