Dual LAN - How does it work?

I noticed that the GIGABYTE Z97N-WIFI has two LAN ports on the rear I/O. I read somewhere that you use both ports at the same time for increased bandwidth, that allows you do multiple things on your network at the same time, such as streaming video and uploading files to a home server, without loosing speed.

 

I then saw something about pairing the two ports so they work as one unit. Does this mean you get double the internet speed? Let's say i download with 5 mb/s, will my speed then increase to 10 mb/s if i plug in a second cable?

Also is used to seperate your network, but normally used for teaming.

This does not affect Internet speed. Your router or switch needs to support link aggregation or teaming. You can have the other port connected to your laptop or another computer for bridged mode.

But if my router supported "teaming" would my theory be correct?
