Microphone audio quality - Need help :)

So, when I'm talking to friends on ventrilo, they have a very hard time hearing me. My audio over microphone is extremely quiet. I have a 4H headset, 7H, 2x Philips headsets and a microphone on a stand. - all of these are the same audio quality, and I don't know why.

Basically on ventrilo my voice is 'Extremely' quiet. Even when I turn my outbound audio up its quiet, but this makes it very grainy also and terrible quality.

Using a MSI G43 Mobo - Not the best I know but this shouldn't be the cause of the problem.

Any ideas?

Oh, I have updated my drivers btw, but that hasn't helped.

Have you tested the audio with another application such as audacity? This problem is most likely software related.

Yup, tried that. When I try and setup my microphone in windows it doesn't even detect it, its that quiet :-/ I really can't put my finger on it :-P
