Hey guys,

I'm going to be building a PC for someone. They don't have an ethernet cable long enough to reach where they want the PC so they need it to be wireless.

I'd pick out the TP-Link one I had but whenever I closed the door it near lost connection!

Can any of you recommend me a good PCI wireless adapter where this is less likely to happen?

Thanks,

Smaste.

I have a Tenda card in mine, can't remember what one it is but it cost be about £5 and works fine, never loses connection.

It could be the router that's got a bad signal...

The card I used was great until you turned it around or put a wall between it.

Have you anything that could be blocking the card? If not then mine was fine too :s.

I have a wall between mine, and it's facing the opposite wall.

And about Powerline, it's Ethernet through your house electrics, plug it in from your router into the wall, then from the wall to your PC.

They don't have an ethernet cable long enough ...

No such thing ;)

Anyway, lets elaborate on powerline. It provides a better connection (in terms of latency) than WiFi, and then depending on which model you buy, faster in terms of bandwidth as well. Here's a video :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sue1Zvmh8JA

I get 2mpbs down from my ethernet cable directly from PC to the router. Oh the glorious UK :P.

So many videos :D I'll be buying a set of powerline adapters from Amazon. Thanks :)

Thanks, I like the sound of powerline, I'll give that a try and if it doesn't work I'll be back to steal your PCI adapter ;)
