A DT770 and a modmic would be very similar at a lower price point. You just won't have an all in one solution. Although there are better headphones for gaming usually since open is preferred.

In terms of music, I listen to a lot of edm so I would want something that doesn't have loose bass. So I think the most optimal would be clear highs and mids as well as tight, noticeably powerful bass for when it tends to drop and for explosions in games. Closed headphones would also be preferred for a more immersive gaming experience. I looked at the DT770s, but couldn't find the 80ohm versions for around the same price as the 250 and 32ohm versions

The MMX 300 is basically a 32 ohm DT770.

Actually open headphones would be better for immersion since it gives you a natural "3d" like sound (unless you are in a noisy environment).

Grab a blue snowflake or modmic 4.0 for around $40 and spend the rest on headphones.

This leaves you with plenty of options. DT 990's, 880's AKG K612 Pro's, ect ect ect...
