To elaborate on that, it's the efficiency at which the PSU outputs. Because computer components all run on DC power, it needs to be converted from AC which is what your mains are. However some of that is lost during conversion. If a PSU is certified 80Plus it means it puts out at least 80% of the intake. So if the PSU is drawing 1000 watts from the wall, it is guaranteed to be outputting at least 800w. The higher you go in the rating, the more efficient or the less power that is lost in conversion. The chart above outlines the various certifications.

Why would you want 80Plus? Basically it saves on your energy bill because you have to draw less power from the wall to achieve the same result. However calculations have shown that the variation between 80Plus Bronze and 80Plus gold for example often do not warrant the aditional purchase price across a lifespan of 1-3 years.

It draws as much as your system is asking for. Well a litlle more because it isn't 100% eficient
