pixelation? issue

recently joined the LTT folding team and whilst folding my screen suddenly did something weird i'll do my best to describe it but the one image i found on google i couldn't use here(image extension not allowed) 

 

blue/green then it went to black and white vertically then it just stayed like that for a good 10 minutes or so before i decided to shut it down and do that-->, thinking it could be a graphic card issue i switched my two graphics cards around,

 

but i could easily be mistaken mind you the two have been working for about 2 weeks...happened to both of my screens too not just one...1. what is this(pixelation?) 2. could this be the cables connected to the monitors or the graphics card? i consider this a minor issue but still this is my new baby and i'm treating it like one :P
