Basically the title says it all. I need a new laptop for university, but I really don't know what to get because of how much the market has really changed since I last bought a laptop.

Things to keep in mind are that I'd prefer some kind of dedicated GPU, and I have a budget of $700 CAD. I will use it for light gaming, playing games such as CS:GO, and League of Legends. Maybe even something like Darksiders 2.

I would prefer something more in the $500-600 range, but I've noticed a lot of Laptops/Notebooks with dedicated GPUs are much more expensive than they used to be.

I really don't know much about integrated GPUs and I think that's where I really need help.

As long as I can play most games at medium to high settings at native resolution I would be happy.

Other things I would like are 6+GB of RAM and at least 500GB of storage space.

I have looked around quite a bit and can only seem to find ones with integrated graphics sooo yeah.

Also.. please.. no Intel HD Graphics whatsoever. I've had the absolute worst experience using that stuff.

Open to any suggestions

Thanks in advance.

I checked it out and I think I'll get that if this doesn't work out, but

Opinions? Apparently it has a dedicated GPU, most likely being a AMD Radeon HD 8570 2GB according to the Lenovo website. It seems like it's really good for the price, as it's also running a A10-5750M at 2.5GHz. I can also get it price-matched down to like $550

Or I could get the cheaper version with an AMD A8-5550M at 2.1GHz and AMD Radeon R5 M230 2GB for a lot cheaper

Hmm. Yeah, it only comes with one dimm of ram doesn't it, so it makes for easy upgrading, but I think around this price range aiming for the one with dedicated GPU and a similar CPU as well as 6GB ram is better. I don't know really, but I've seen benches for the 8570 and it seems to be pretty good, even compared to my desktop, which isn't that powerful, so getting similar performance might make for a better transition from desktop to laptop.
