We're planning a birthday present for one of my cousins and he's currently using a laptop that can barely handle RuneScape.

The objective is to give him a solid gaming experience on 720p for Battlefield 4 with medium or better settings.

However, we also require the pc to survive at least 4 years playing at higher framerates (40+) while still on 720. Of course, image quality can be tuned down as needed.

Now, my own pc is pretty much made of only high-end stuff and I've never really made anything budget-oriented...

Currently I've come up with this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fpZ6pg

The objective is to stay below USD500,-

The PSU selected is $45,- where I live.

I'd love to have some feedback on this build!

problem dude

APU uses system RAM as VRAM

you will need to get speedy rams like 2133MHz ones

the 6800K is lest gen APU and they are slower

you should go for the A10-7850K

use a normal 1TB HDD

hybrid HDD are not worth the extra cost

please dont use the VS450

change to CX430

How about a combination of an APU and a mid range graphicscard to run with it in crossfire? With a dual-channel kit 8GB RAM let´s say 2133 mHz and a SSD (not a big one, maybe an SAmsung 840 evo 120 gig: does its job and is faster than an hdd + hdds are cheap so you can throw one in to)

Sadly I´m not very into AMD stuff so i can´t help with a mainboard

Should the build be a small form factor one or just standard atx ?

sadly dual graphics only works with low end GPUs like the R7 240 and 250

and those low end GPU are a waste of money for like 10-20fps boost

APU are good when you dont need a discrete GPU

CPU and GPU combos > APU

oh ok i didn´t know that :D thanks for the correction

maybe then a mid to high gfx card and a normal cpu not an apu if they really need so much memory :/
