You guys might get this question a lot, but as a noobie who only built one computer in his short life span, I cannot decide on which part of my computer to upgrade first.

I am currently using a pre picked parts/build computer from tiger direct, the spec of my computer consist of

  • AMD FX-8320 eight core processor 3.50ghz
  • 8 gigs of memory(says 6.92 usable though)
  • windows 8 64bit
  • AMD Radeon HD 7800 series
  • Mobo is M5A99FX pro R2.0(i have no idea what this means as well)\
  • Power supply is Thermaltake Smart M750W power supply(which apparently has a 80 plus bronze

So looking at these parts which one should I upgrade first in order to see a performance boost in my build?
Also my computer tends to over heat or crash often when im playin games like fallout 3 or battlefield 4. These two have some crazy gaps in terms of graphic settings, but seems like fallout3 is more of a spazz out crashes, and battlefield 4 seems to be overheating issue. Is there a way to fix this?

Also I forgot to mention that I am a gamer, but I play counter strike and dota a lot, and only play games like battlefield 4 because.. well I have a gaming pc, it would be a waste to not have at least one graphically demanding game.

Also I only use one monitor, I have razer black widow keyboard and the MW3 eddition of G9X (I only bough this version cuz it was actually on sale for a crazy price)

Also my budget is fairly limited, I'm mostly getting suggestions now so I can have a general idea of something to work on in the future. I can maybe spare a $100 "IF" there is a must buy upgrade right this second.

Oh and my monitor is a HP w2338h

You have a pretty well rounded system. Are you using the stock cooler on your cpu? You could buy a better aftermarket cooler, oc your cpu, and get a better graphics card. The aftermarket cooler can help with your overheating problems. How is your case airflow as well?

I should be studying.

@Prodigydeadeye Yes I am using a stock cooler, but I didn't really aim for the aftermarket cooler because I have no idea how to OC. @Jodomcfrodo I actually don't know, I think its my CPU because my gpu temperature on the stress test(with the kombuster app) seems to suggest that my gpu remains at 75 degrees with around 58 fps average. I also optimized my game settings with the rptar app that came with AMD card users.

Overclocking isn't as difficult as you might think, there are several beginner guides on the internet, and you probably could find a guide on overclocking an 8320. The forum can help you as well. Even if you don't oc, I would recommend you pick up an aftermarket cooler. It will help your heat issue.

I should be studying.

@Dragoon It seems like some of these things do the same thing as the others, However I did download the top 2 and got a general idea of what it looks like on my pc.

@Prodigy I suppose I could do that I mean the asus bios did have some sort of auto overclock option and I think I already enabled that option.

edit:also  it seems like my video card is up to date.

I wouldn't overclock if it is already over heating...

well the thing is it wasnt overheating until i played battlefield 4 with the setting recommended by raptr.

How long have you had the system?

Did the problems just start?

What model case? And if you don't know that, how many fans & where are they in the case?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
