If i use a fan splitter on the fan cable plugged into my h80i will i be able to control the fan speeds like that???

Or...

if i get the corsair cooling node would it plug into the H80i rather than having to get the command center? or is it needed.

the cooling nodes, have 1 molex ( power), 5 PWM fan header, 4 temp sensor ports, and one digital corsair link proprietary plug.  does the h80i have the internal usb cable ?  if so, there would be no place to plug in the cooling node to communicate with your system.

I am not 100% sure, but I would think, if u are using 3 pin ( voltage control ) fans, you could use one of the 3rd pins, to monitor RPM and just leave the other 3rd pin not hooked up. this would call for the same voltage, on both fans, in turn, giving you the same RPM.

The next question is, how many watts can the h80I's fan headers handle ?
