I have heard good things about the paid versions of both. I don't think you could go wrong with either. Bandicam does make smaller file size, but may require more cpu usage.

I personally use MSI afterburner for recording games, and it works great but it can't seem to recognize minecraft as a game, so I probably would not be that good for your use. Have you tried dxtory? I have not used it personally, but I have heard a lot of good things about it.
