So my power went out for my whole street yesterday because some electrician guy blew something (or that's what the street was saying). I went to turn my computer back on and everything was fine, but as soon as I got into a Skype call with my friend he said there was a horrible buzzing sound. I thought it was Skype but it wasn't. We tried Curse Voice and Teamspeak3.

I have a Corsair Vengance 1500 and this is the only time it's had this issue. I did listen to my device through sound setting too, the buzzing sound is awful and make my mic unusable. Can a power cut do this to my mic? Or is it just being unlucky?

I know this is gonna sound pretty stupid, but is your mic on mute? I remember putting my previous headset on mute and everytime I did that, there'd be a buzzing sound.
