High RAM usage while not doing anything

Go to solution Solved by mcpim,

I don't know what messed it up to be honest. For some reason it just did this all of a sudden. I just finished installing some windows updates and for no reason my issue is gone now. I don't know what caused it, the only things i downloaded were from Steam and Origin. I also download Firefox through the official Mozilla page. The problem is fixed now, I don't know how but it is fixed.

Please note: The only processes running at the time were Mozilla Firefox,  Teamspeak 3 and paint.

I'll mark this case solved for now.

Thank you for your reply. :)

Hello User,

thank you in advance for reading my story.

I've recently recieved a new hard drive for my Alienware 17 (specs will be at the bottom). I know the laptop is overpriced, but please don't start to complain about that.
My old hard drive crashed this sunday evening and Dell sent me a new one. Only as of yesterday have I installed the hard drive and installed all the software (games etc.) and drivers (I think i did). It worked all right yesterday, but for some reason now my RAM usage is at 97%-100% while i'm not even doing anything. I will make a screenshot (Task manager is in Dutch, but you'll understand). There's not a single task that is using a lot of ram, nor are there multiple proces using a decent amount. I've been calculating and i should be using at max 300 mb of the 16 gb i've got. I do not know how this issue has started, but I also don't know how I could solve it. I am hoping that there is anyone smart enough to help me with this issue.

Yours Faithfully, Pim L.

Laptop's Specifications:

Ram: 16 GB DDR3

CPU: Intel® Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2,40 GHz (Auto-overclocks with intel turboboost to 3.40 Ghz, if I'm correct)
Harddrive: Western Digital 750 GB (Not an SSD) (WDC WD7500BPKT-PK4T0
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 780m 4GB and the integrated Intel Graphics HD 4600 2GB
Operating System: Windows 8.1
Programs: Nothing strange, fresh install, downloaded all games I had from steam and Origin, roughly 40 games.
Virusscanner: Anti-malwarebytes Premium

Please note: I've not been to any dodgy sites, I doubt that I would have any malware. I've downloaded my drivers from Dell and my games from Steam and Origin.

I've tried to restart my computer several times, but that does not solve the issue.

Please have a look at the attached file (image) of my Task manager.

Thanks in advance, again!
