PSu Fan Broken?

azzo

Hey guys!

My PC has been shutting down randomly, in the middle of games or even when left on for a period of time. I believe it's due a broken PSU Fan ( AX860). The fans never spin, even when during startup or under load (Including Prime95 + Heaters on)

I was wondering if there was any way to switch it the PSU (COrsair AX series) from Hybrid to Normal mode, or if there was any way to test the PSU Fan is broken or not? Thankss very much in advance  :)

How have you come to the conclusion that it is the PSU? Have you checked for CPU or GPU temp's while you are using the computer to make sure that they aren't heating up to a point where they shut off.

Are you monitoring your temperatures? Download Coretemp or RealTemp and show us a screen shot of your temps.

On prime95 blend test the cpu Temps reached a max of 63degees Celsius. I'm not sure for the gpu. I thought it was the psu because the fan would never spin even on startup or under load.

This kind of sounds like a virus to me, since a friend of mine had a problem similar to this, in the end his brother fixed it, since my friend and I were baffled and unsure of what exactly was happening
