SteelSeries Apex [RAW] Keyboard problems

So today, I got the SteelSeries Apex Raw keyboard. Played with it for about 30 minutes or so on counter strike, then it got somewhat uncomfortable. My hand is kinda big, and the wrist rest is about 4.5 or so centimeters big. Whenever I moved my hand away from the WASD keys, to say the control key, I had to somewhat stretch my shift finger which was a bit awkward with a wrist rest. Anyway, has any with the apex keyboards have this problem or is it just me? I had no problems with my older keyboard with no wrist rest, And kind of wished they just kept without a wrist rest.
