Ported subwoofer box help

Hi,

I'd like to buy or build a ported box for my 10 inch infinity subwoofer. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-HxY9yHSjPzC/p_1081050W/Infinity-1050w.html

I'd like it to not take up too much room but still give good loud sound (I care more about the boom than the sound quality)

If you can find one that I can buy that fits the specs well that would work, if not I can try to build one custom but I don't know how to design it well.

Looking at the spec sheet, just make sure its 1.75 cu feet. I believe ported is a looser sound, and sealed is punchier? anyone with sub experience want to share?

for your vehicle imo i would go with something that puts your sub at more of a slant. i say this because the back gate with absorb the audio more that the glass. so i personally would want so of the sudio to bounce off of the glass and towards the front of the cabin.

Subs now days can play just perfect with a ported box compared to a sealed box. So long as the port is sized correctly and the internal volume is correct. Ported doesn't have to mean 'boomy' anymore.
