Hi I have been having a problem with my rig. Im not sure it this is a motherboard or psu problem. My computer has been shutting off by itself, and going on in an infinate loop of turning on and shutting off. I have to flip the switch on my psu to turn my pc off for good. I have to wait another 24 hours before i can turn my pc on without it going in an infinate loop of turning on and off. My pc almost always shuts down when there's a sudden increase or decrease in voltage. (For example suddenly exiting battlefeild 3 or launching battlefeild 3.) I was wondering if this is a motherboard problem or a psu problem. I just want to make sure before I rma my psu.

I7 4770k (currently at base clock)

Gigabyte r9 290

Asus gryphon Matx mobo

Antec hcg 620 watt psu

Sounds like a heat issue if you have to wait for 24 hours... I'd check temps if they are high, reseat components as well as replace any thermal compound... How ever if it is not a heat issue I'd look at swapping the PSU and see if the problem persists or dies off completely.

You may want to double-check that your H100i is working as it should. As @L.E.D explained, it's quite possible that you have an overheating issue.

My thermals are fine. My cpu is at a steady 50-60 degrees when gaming and my gpu runs at 70 degrees (r9 290's were built to run at 90 degrees)

Yes that is excellent, so next try and track down another PSU to swap in and test, one in your house already or you may need to buy one... If you have to buy one Corsair series are highly praised.

The most realtemp gt has ever shown me while gaming was 67* on my hottest core, but that was only momentarily when the map was loading. Then it jumped back down to 55

The power supply that @Madluri has is a Seasonic built unit, so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. However, that's not to say that it may have gone bad. As L.E.D suggested, try with another power supply to help rule it out. I'll add a suggestion to have the outlet tested to ensure that the power supply is getting the proper power it needs.

I have tested the pc in different outlets, but the problem is still there

You could go even more technical as a single branch circuit is general providing one room, so to best test the outlet scenario would be run an extension cord or move the pc to another room, typical circuits are 15a which I have yet to max but if it really that taxing on the outlet the breaker in the main panel should switch into the off position leaving everything I just mentioned useless... Im still posting this though.
