windows 7 installation cant find a disk to install to

trying to install windows 7 to an ssd for a friend and when it ask to select a drive there is no drive to select and when i browse for a drive i can't see a drive but then it tell me to loud drivers what do i do?

you load the drivers.....silly

there should be a browse button that allows you to browse for drivers.

you're looking for drivers for your SATA-controller, not your drives.


in before "I don't know where the drivers are" : either find them on the internet or take them from an existing installation on that computer

a nice tool to find drivers is "Double Drivers"

i went to the motherboards wed site and downloaded the  chip set driver and in that was the amd sata controller driver went to install it and it says loud drivers, no new devices could be found? what do i do now

your usb is in a usb3 port that wont work so put ur usb in a usb 2 port and then change your mobo's sata mode to ahci for good measure
