internet cable slow connection.

Go to solution Solved by Fredrikmikael,

Could be the issue if the transmit pair is damaged. By the way, the cables are twisted in order to avoid interference due to induction, not from external signals.

yeah that's what i was trying to say, might not have been to clear. but after twisting the together and taping the cable (ghetto style) everything seems to be working properly :)

Considering your upload speed is what you're paying for I'm going to say that some devide (or user) is doing bunch of downloading. What is your connection (DSL, Cable, FiOS)? Is the download speed the same at all times of the day?

it's just me and my mom who's using the internet and she mostly sit's on facebook, the internet connection is perfect when i'm using the wireless but i think i might have found the root of my problem:

just graduated from IT school and have learned that the cables inside the ethernet cable are twisted to avoid interference, and my slow speeds might be a result of the connection being interfered.
