Hi guys, my PC case is pretty scratched up and I'm either changing  cases or painting my black NZXT Phantom 820 could anyone tell me what to do? and if you think i should paint my case which paint do i use and what painting technique do I use? If you think i should change my case then recommend a case and let me know how hard it is to transfer cases? Also what are the risks of changing cases?

I'd recommend the corsair 750D, it seems about as big if not slightly larger than your current case. The only risks of changing cases might be clearance issues, but the 750D is large enough to accommodate most systems. It isn't hard to transfer cases, it is however time consuming taking your pc apart and then putting in back together. Hope this helps

if only the side panels are scratched the painting it would be the easier thing do and more cost efficient, depending on how bad it is you might need bond-o. it is a car filler that is easily sand-able, i could tell you what you need to do if i could see a picture if the case

if the case is portable, there is nothing the new case can offer to prevent the scars and

scratches. if it is stationary, your new case will have the same affliction as your old 820

has, something is scratching your case up.

without knowing your build specs, sounds like an expensive project either way and getting

the same results.

no real "risks" of changing cases. hopefully you chose a size appropriate for your hardware.

as for repair/painting your case, explore the Case Mod section as there is a lot of painting

tips for that project.
