Hey guys currently building a gaming pc and saving the graphics card till last. At first I planned on getting a gtx 780, then I seen the 780 ti which I would have to save up for an extra month for. And then there's the r9 290x which I can get for the same price as the 780. Just wondering which I should get. What will offer me best performance in games?

I will be gaming 1080p and I play all kinds of games. FPS, MMO, MMORPG TPS etc.

There wasn't really a budget per say. Just gathering parts each month and take each month as it comes. all together it comes to about £1300 with everything. Including monitor, keyboard and mouse. The included gpu in the price is a gtx 780.

I've got every part sorted on part picker, but just having some last minute debate on what gpu to get.

I wouldn't recommend going above a 780, gets less worth it after that point IMO. The 780 and the R9 290X are about equal in performance. Do some research into the pros and cons of Nvidia and AMD and decide which one you'd prefer. If you're going with a multi monitor setup I'd recommend the R9 290X.

Great CPU choice! You should be able to max out most games at about 60 FPS, with the exception of some really intensive games such as Crysis 3.

Paired with a 4690k will I be able to max out most games over 60fps?

You will be able to do 60fps and over just fine with a single 780. However, only thing you might want to consider is having the extra gig of VRAM with the R9 290X/290. There's really no point in getting the 290X there's only about a 10% difference in performance between it and the 290 but that 10% doesn't justify the extra cost.

If you aren't currently set on a specific company that you rather go with, ie. "fanboy" Then I would personally go with an R9 290.  You can get a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 for a really good price.

No, just no. The 290x blows the 780 out of the water. If you can get an aftermarket r9 290x for the same as a 780, get it. It has much greater performance as compared to the 780.
