New Phone - How Long to Charge Battery

How long should my first charge be for my new HTC One M8? The salesperson who sold it to me said 8 hours for my first charge.

That's bullshit, charge it until it's full. it's a Llithium battery and they come pre-charged to a degree anyway.

 

Lithium batteries also wear in terms of power cycles, so charge it as often as possible rather than let the battery drain fully before charging to prolong it's life.
