I'm sure the G710+ has macro keys, so if that's important to you, they're worth considering. Also, Logitech software tends to be pretty good, so that's another plus. Cherry Brown has a tactile feel, that is....you'd feel a bump (for want of a better word) but is non-clicky. Blues are louder due to the clicks, and they are tactile. The question is, can you take the constant clicks? Or, if you have someone sharing the room with you (a significant other for example), then would the loud annoy that person? I have a Cherry Blue, and typing with it is a real pleasure, since if there's a click, the key is actuated so typing is easier with it. Browns are sort of a jack of all trades, it handles gaming and typing with ease.....hell, I've been testing my Filco Ninja Brown with UT3 (requires rapid tapping of keys) and I seem to be doing better with Browns than with Blues. Red and Black are still my fave gaming switches, with Browns coming in a close 2nd to them. The Blue is simply awesome for typing, heck, typing this post with my QF TK Blue and it's sheer sex.... :D

I've had/got:

Razer blackwidow with blues

Gigabyte Aivia with reds

Logitech G710+ with browns

Thermaltake meka G1 with blacks

Ducky DK2108 with blues

So.... You might say I have some experience in the matter. ;)

I would agree that you should avoid the black widow, though mine was a first generation, maybe they fixed some of the problems.

The gigabyte is actually one of the nicest made, feels more solid than the Logitech, has awesome volume and brightness wheels but unfortunately I hated the red switches.

The Ducky is great, nicely built, solid little keyboard. I gave it to my parents since I had the damn things everywhere.

The Thermaltake is also nice, but lacks a little in features compared to the Gigabyte or Logitech.

The Logitech is my overall favorite so far, I love the media keys, the white backlighting, the wristrest isn't as silly as the Gigabyte etc. But I'd have to say blue switches are my faves so far, blacks and browns are tied for second and reds are a VERY distant third, though still ahead of rubber domes (shudder).

If you want me to answer anything specific, fire away. :)

Like I said in that thread, go with headphones and a mic, or the 360s if you just can't be bothered. Don't worry that they're not 7.1! ;)

The 7H is also a good choice for your headset.
