Video editing build

Hi a friend of mine asked me for advice's about his future build (1150€ budget) he wants to edit videos and some non-heavy usage(skype, surfing...) he does not want to game on it, though he will use 2 monitors. I was thinking to tell him something like this:

CPU: CORE I7 4790K or 4790 (since he will not overclock)

STORAGE: 1 SAMSUNG 125GB 840 PRO(just to run the essential), 2 1TB Western Digital Black 7200rmp or 1 2TB Western Digital Black 7200rpm

POWER SUPPLY: Semi-modular

 

The case and motherboard i still have no idea because he is still deciding in a mini-tower or a mid-tower, he already has the monitors.

 

Questions:

-Does he need a graphics card? If so low-range, mid or high

-Watercooler kit(like corsair h80i) or air cooler is enough (he will not overclock)

firstly u have to make a balanced rig...not just getting the devils canyon with no gpu...also i would say go for 4770...

 

u will require a decent gpu....like 760 or 770...and also if he wont be overclocking then just get a h87 or h97 mobo...

I7 4770 with air cooling is good enough because you won't over-clock. But get a good air-cooling.  Definitely need a GPU and a good one. I would say 770. Get 16 GB of ram.

if he is going to render large resolution videos then ya u can also go with 280x...

Just go with a 4790, decent air cooler, cheap 16 GB ram kit, some cheap GPU.

 

You really just need a powerful CPU for rendering and more ram the better.
