VRM

I am looking at GIGABYTE B850 GAMING WIFI6 and I see that it has a "6+2+2 Digital VRM Design".

I see no restrictions in CPU support and it lists Ryzen 9 9950X3D2.

 

Would such a VRM be sufficient?

Yes.  That board supports all AMD cpus fine.

 

VRM's are not an issue on the B650 and B850 boards.  Please no longer look at them with questions (the VRM I mean).

there are quite a few b650 boards with VRM that are unable to support Ryzen 9... well they support them but not at stock wattage. 
hard to say b850, have not looked into them. 

Its frustrating that the actual VRM used are not in the spec sheet anywhere

True, but there are the bottom of the barrel.

 

Plus, he was looking at DDR4 last month, so no idea where he's mentioning 9950X3D2 chips now. 

 

I think it's an ask to ask, not real intended purchasing questions anyway.  So honestly, he should be able to verify that on his own, on top of my comment.

I thought you gave up posting negative comments, but I guess I was wrong. I am still looking at DDR4, as a cheaper option at half the price of DDR5, but what does that have to do with this topic?

No, what you deem negative I deem realistic.

 

People invest time, energy, and their concern to help here.  It's polite to at least le them know you're really into buying what you're asking about, since they take the time to answer and oftentimes to look up info and take time to research things for you.

 

If you're really looking to buy this or similar, I am more than happy to help you out.   If you're just curious then I am not near as invested.
