Alright, I just built a pc a few months ago specs will be below. Ran great for about a month and then randomly I started getting ridiculous stuttering and freezing out of nowhere. Programs wouldn't load or anything. Disc usage jumping through the roof. Its an nvme drive albeit not the fastest but it should be great for really anything. Most of the time it runs great, I can run crystal mark or something else and it gets the speeds its supposed to. But then randomly, sometimes when starting the PC, sometimes when at idle nothing running, or sometimes mid gaming it blasts up to 100% usage and latency goes to +800ms. Can't figure out whats causing it. Every test says the disc is healthy, it has about half its capacity left. I've followed several guides suggesting turning off indexing or what not and I'm not sure what else to try. It doesn't seem like its a hardware failure because its so inconsistent. Not sure if I need to try updating bios or if nvme drives need a special driver or something (im running the generic one and didn't see anything specific for mine). Anyways advice would help, maybe someone else has had the same issue. I'd love not to have to install a blank copy of windows, just did that twice a few months ago after buying it (had to rma a motherboard).

Ryzen 5 7600X

32 GB ddr5 6000m/t ram

Teamgroup TM8FP6001T 1 tb nvme

RTX 5070

Also have you checked to see where you plugged the NVME into some boards share a port with USB or PCI for instance so you have to watch what you plug where. On my last pc 2 of my headers for usb did this and slowed things to a crawl on file copying until I worked it out and shifted to another header.

Clever buggers will be along later to help until then ya stuck with me 🙂

you're running a pcie gen3 nvme so it's ok to not have blazing fast speeds though the stuttering can be at this point a windows install issue or something else, i would start start with:

BIOS update to the latest version

UPDATE ALL the drivers you can from the manufacturer of your motherboard website. chipset specially might help but install everything except some crap tools which is bloatware most of the time
WINDOWS update to the latest version

after this procedure if the issue persists you can go through a cycle of DISM to check and repair windows system image

you will probably fix the issue by updating either the bios or all the drivers from your motherboard manufacturer product support page
