So I am about to bite the bullet and pick up a 780. My question is whether I should go with a reference cooler or non-reference. I understand that "generally", reference cards are better for restricted airspace and sli configurations where the cards are stacked close together, and non-reference cards are better for the other scenarios. I am looking for any suggestions based on my setup, and if anyone has had experience with similar layouts. I currently have a Corsair 750D case with the 2 stock fans on the front, 1 on the back, and 2 on the top. My motherboard is the Gigabyte z87x ud5h. I used my current video card to measure it out, and if I were to sli, I would have about an inch of clearance between the two cards. I am pretty sure that a non-reference design would be good for a single card setup, but I want to keep my options open and will most likely sli down the road. Temps are my biggest concern, and I am worried about having the 2 cards in sli trap heat with only 1 inch of clearance.

Thanks!!

Well depends on if you want a non reference pushing out all the air into your case adding heat you your CPU, or just pushing it out of you case. I had one with a stock cooler, pushing all the air out, worked well. If you have good air going into your case go for the blower fan. IT's quiet and effective. I switched to water cooling now, but Sock cooler also has a ballin LED on it! :D
