hello guys I'm new here I just made an account I've been searching the internet the last 2 days for a solution because my 4090 RTX started ramping up the fans on 3000 RPM on idle and I do not know what to do I'm very sad at the edge of crying I spent 3 years saving money and I don't want to lose everything please help me. I was just watching stream on Twitch and all of a sudden there fans starting going berserk mind you I haven't downloaded anything the last week and I was not messing with it, the only thing that I've done I can think of is Windows updates but I haven't found any updates or information if that is true or not if Windows affected my graphics card fans AGAIN PLEASE HELP !!!

Okay, first of all, calm down.  Being frantic is never going to help.

Is this happening all the time or did it just happen once?

What is the rest of your system specs? Be specific.

It's going to be alright. The fans going crazy is not really indicative of anything major on it's own, so let's take a deep breath before moving on.

Let's start by getting some basic readings.

What are the full specs of your machine?

If you can, download HWMonitor and determine the temperatures of your 4090 while the fans are going crazy. Report back with those temps and we'll move from there

the temperature of the GPU is between 26 and 28 Celsius and I downloaded MSI afterburner NZXT and from Asus the GPU tweak 3 and the GPU reacts to none of them but the rest of the computer complies with the orders of these apps it's only the GPU that doesn't obey

but it's been 2 days isn't that way too long for the van to run on 3,000 RPM?

You only said it happened once and not that it staying at 3000 RPM's constantly.

You have to give precise details otherwise we dont know or cant understand what is going on.

So the GPU is still at constant 3000 RPM?

check for windows updates

check for drivers update

check for BIOS updates

check for chipset updates

reseat the GPU

one of these will work with high confidence, it's most unlikely that you have a thermal sensor problem in your GPU (i would say almost impossible),

nvidia drivers lately are bad, so you might even need to wait a bit for new ones to pop up, on the bright side your fans are at 100% all the time and not at 0%, your GPU is not cooking itself

reseat the GPU? you mean turning off the computer unplugging the graphics card from the motherboard and replugging it?

It's not really a bad thing, just an annoying thing. 2 days at full blast is not really that concerning long-term
