Hello im new to the forum and I’m planning on rebuilding my PC soon my budget is $1,250 US I was trying to find some suggestions this is my current parts list;

Motherboard: x570-e Asus Strix

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5700G

CPU Cooler: Master Cooler MasterLiquid 360L

RAM: 32gb DDR4 3600MHZ Trident Z

GPU: MSI Ventus 3x 4070

PSU: Corsair RM850

Storage: 512gb WD Blue M.2 SSD(Boot drive)

2tb Team Group M.2 SSD

4tb Toshiba HDD 7200RPM

Case: Generic Cyberpower Case

I’m recycling only my drives, except the boot drive, my GPU, and my PSU, but upgrading everything else. I don’t really care much for RGB so I only really wanna spend on the parts themselves. Also I mainly game at 1440p and do some production stuff like networking that’s why I’m planning on keeping my current GPU but my CPU feels a bit outdated. These are the current parts I’ve chosen from micro center and pricing;

AMD BUNDLE: AMD 9800x3d - MSI X870e Pro WiFi - 32gb DDR5 6000MHZ Corsair Vengeance 680$

Case: Lian Li Liancool 207 digital 120$

CPU Cooler: Arctic Liquid Freeze 360 Pro 85$

Boot Drive: 1TB Samsung 990 Evo Plus 65$

Total: 1,023$ (After Taxes)

If anyone has any suggestions/improvements I can make it’d be more than welcome. I’m computer savvy and am confident handling hardware etc. I just tend to second guess things and wanted to seek some advice. I also wanted to maximize my budget but not needlessly spend on things like RGB and the like. I mainly wanna focus on just the hardware at the moment.

I honestly wouldn’t mind keeping the case and upgrading to a 2tb either way but I thought it would be a bit much as just a boot drive.

Yeah, bump to a 2TB drive.  I have 3 TB currently, and wish I had more.   Don't pay Samsung tax tho.  @Why_Me introduced me/us to the Spatium drives, they seem solid.  Tho he seems to have jumped ship to the TeamGroup side now 🙂

Great bundle, glad you're going X870e as well.  Definitely worth $50 more than the B650 bundle.

Does the spatinum perform well as a boot drive I heard it has no dram cache. I was also looking at the inland ssds from micro center since I’m going there I’d rather get everything in one stop.

Kind of seems like an outdated view to just think of an SSD as for a boot drive. Good to put your games on it too for the better load times. And especially now that SSD are cheap. Still, I have a 1TB SSD and even with a bunch of games and emulators installed plus using it for space for writing movies to that I compress to HEVC format I'm not hurting for free space at all. I keep all my movies, porn TV shows, roms, etc on separate mechanical drives though since I don't need SSD read speeds for any of that stuff like I would for the OS, games, and assorted programs I use.

Yeah I have another 2tb SSD that’s currently loaded with all my games on it, and my other 4tb hard drive is just one I’ve had for a while with some old pictures on it and stuff I mainly just use it as a file storage now so it’s not cluttered in with other things and I just wanna have a dedicated one as a boot drive because I didn’t necessarily need more space for games since I don’t have too many I play at one time the current ones I have install take up about 1.5tb of my drive, but been noticing the price different and might get another 2tb ssd and use the extra space for back up files I might need.

Save money on a new case and don't get it unless your case has a problem, or you want an aesthetic upgrade. The rest looks good.

Thanks it’s mainly cause my current one was banged up during shipping cause I got a pre built, already had to send it back and forth because of hardware issues so just dealt with the cosmetics but that’s the main reason I wanna upgrade especially because I can’t even take off my front panel anymore to clean it. Never getting a pre built ever again lol
