Booting problem

Go to solution Solved by Plasmaguy5,

Hey, it says that Ventoy does not support the M chipset for macOS. Is there another alternative people would recommend? Ventoy doesn't have a macOS download, and another forum said they don't support Ventoy. I'm going to try to rent a Windows laptop and see if I can do it that way.

Hi. I recently built a pc from scratch. I have a problem where my BIOS indicates that I have an NVMe drive plugged in, but when I click to boot, it only allows me to boot from a CD or DVD. If I don't click on anything, it just takes me back to BIOS. Here's some more backstory:

I have an ASUS Motherboard, and I used my Mac to flash a USB stick using BalenaEtcher, where I selected the Windows file as x64.iso and the USB stick as the destination. I have 16 GB, so it is plenty of storage. My BIOS is detecting that my NVMe drive is installed, with the terabyte of storage, and everything appears to be correct. So next, I tried formatting the NVMe properly. Going to the boot using the CD or DVD part and opening the Windows terminal. I did the list disk thing and it showed up, I then formatted it using select disk 0, clean, convert gpt, exit, restarted it, and it still gave me the the same booting thing, where I click boot menu, it pops up with a screen asking me to click a key if its a cd or dvd, I dont click on anything and it takes me back to BIOS. Also, on the boot menu, it has an install driver to show hardware, where I can browse files with drivers, and two things show up: USB Drive (C:) and Boot (X:). If I click on either one and click ok, it just gives me an error for both. I can't even click install because it's a greyed-out box. So my only option is to close it. I am completely stumped. I saw online to use a different flashing software, Ventoy, but it looks very sketchy. I wanted to see what people would recommend that I do. I tried to find a similar thread, but I couldn't find one. Can someone help?
All the computer parts seem to work, and the BIOS shows everything correctly.

Ventoy is a very stable tool and has a number of advantages over Etcher, the first is that it can be installed onto any OS to create a bootable USB stick that allows you to install any number of different .iso's, along with various tools and such onto one USB stick and the run them from there.

When installing a new OS, it's best to disconnect or remove all drives with the exception of the one your booting from and the one that you want to install the OS onto, to prevent errors such as this.

The go ahead and install Windows and before rebooting, unplug the USB stick so that it doesn't try boot from it.
