I probably chose the wrong section (Troubleshooting) to post about this issue and my confusion regarding how to resolve it. Rather than repost it all here, I will provide a LINK

Executive summary: My mobo's firmware boot menu has way too many entries and I don't know how to sort out the ones that are safe to delete. If the mods want to move that original post here, that would be peachy. Thanks.

Answered this on the old thread but basically, NONE.

These are the 'behind the scenes' processes/files your computer need in order to boot.

The only thing that you need to concern yourself with is what' s on the Metro Boot Screen.

In other word DO NOTHING, if you want your computer to keep booting.

I appreciate the reply but I still think there are too many. The list recently grew from only 4 or 5 entries to the present 9 or so. This happened after I ran DISM on Windows 11 and did a repair install of Windows 10. In the process, 10 became the only OS available so I used Easy BCD to add 11 back to the Metro screen and then let Macrium add itself back in to complete the set. By chance I happened to check the firmware manager the other day and was surprised and puzzled to see all the new additions. FWIW, there have been times in the past when I've needed to boot from the firmware manager. If I ever have to do it again it will be a process of trial and error to find the right entry due to the redundancy*. I'd rather not have to guess. But if I'm stuck with it I guess I'll learn to like it.

*I think there are 4 or 5 entries for the Samsung 850 where my Win 10 install is located... there used to be only 2 and I knew which one to pick.
