Transparent screw driver

I have one question about these screw drivers so on the normal ones there is a little ring between the selector and the main body does that ring need to be there because if so I don't think mine have it. If it is just because it is clear and doesn't need to be there that is cool but if it has something to do with the overall support of the driver might want to check into it.

Without any pictures, hard to get quite what you mean. In original the ring is recessed, transparent shows similar effect.

Sorry about the pictures phone doesn't focus close up but I just used a piece of wire pulled tight that fits down in the groove and bottoms out.

Those pics are slightly different angle, but I don't see anything different.
