i was wondering if there was a quick guide to set up a mining program and if there are any recommendations on which program to use?

As a matter of fact, there is indeed a very simple guide. It goes as follows:

"Don't."

That's it. Don't mine. Period. It's not profitable without free power, but even if you do have it, you're still better off dedicating that electricity for something actually useful like Folding / BOINC instead of throwing it away for naught.

At the moment, mining is not profitable unless you have dirt cheap electricity.

If your electricity is free, or super cheap like 5¢ per kWh, then you might be able to earn some money, but it depends on the hardware you have. If it's not recent, like from the last 5 years, odds are, it won't be able to make you anything.

What is your electricity situation like? And what hardware do you have to work with?

1. Do you have a few of A1000 and a direct connection to the power plant?
If the answer is 'No' - join the flow and buy/trade crypto. This is the only way a private person can earn crypto tokens these days.
