Hi all, I'm from the EU and thinking about upgrading my GPU from a 1080 Ti, which is surprisingly still faring quite well.

Where I'm from, my options are somewhat limited, but I think I'm able to find a 5080 FE for ~1100 Euros. I understand that the community sentement towards the 5080 is somewhat bitter due to its price-to-performance ratio, however most seem to claim its available at ~1300. I'm leaning towards the 5080 because I have the PSU headroom for it (850W), and 5070 Ti's cost around 900-1000 EUR (closer to the 1000 for the higher-end board partners), which is not a massive saving considering the performance gap. I also wanted to ask your opinion regarding Founder's Edition cards. They are ideal for me since longer cards won't fit (~317mm available).

I play a variety of games from Stardew Valley to Microsoft Flight Simulator at 1440p. I'll be pairing this with a 9950x3D and 32GB of DDR5. I use my PC for software development, however I'm not really sure whether I'll use it much for machine learning workloads so it's a consideration but not a priority for me.

I wanted to gauge your thoughts on the matter since most buying guides / informational material is more oriented towards the US/North American market. I'm also considering the option of perhaps waiting for the SUPER cards. Thanks 🙂

1100EUR for a 5080 is really good, can't find one in France under 1200, and at that price it's good value vs a 5070TI at 900 indeed

Else you can look at 9070XT, 15-20% slower than a 5080 but 700EUR, which is 40% cheaper

Mah, I'm in Croatia prices here are hundreds more for all models, it's so bad. When I see these prices from different EU places I can't belive it. It's like I'm better of ordering from different EU country than buying from my own.

Yeah maybe you should order from Germany, it has the best EU prices usually

Unfortunately, I’m in a similar situation. I just automatically default to buying from abroad now. 😅
