I had Seagate HDDs with BE Airflow Temperature SMART Status failed. I recently bought a new Seagate HDD and its temperature keeps increasing while accessing up to around 50 degrees Celsius when stop accessing is needed in order temperature to drop. Is this normal for Seagate HDDs?

What's your ambient temperature? What's your case, and how your hard drives mounted?

I generally always try and setup my hard drives with fans in a push / pull setup (fans on both sides of them):

In these configurations generally even writing for 24 hours+ my hard drives stay around 30 C:

At around 20 degrees Celsius room temperature, copied around 1.5TB from a HDD in a USB3 metal enclosure which reached around 50 degrees, to a HDD outside the case connected with a SATA cable which reached around 49 degrees.

HDD in external enclosures will get hot. No way around it. I used to place a fan on them to try and keep them in check. It's just not an ideal situation. My externals I actually sit on top of my case so my exhaust fans blow across them when they are in use.

You'll have to  check the datasheet for your hard drive, but 50 C should be in the operating range for most HDDs. While this is in the upper recommended range, it should be in the "safe" range.

In the datasheet of the new Seagate HDD, I read "Temperature, Operating (°C) Drive Reported 5 ~ 60". Does this mean that BE Airflow Temperature will fail above 60?
