GPU Upgrade/Replacement

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

- I7-5820K

- Asus X99A

- 2x8Gb DDR4

- Xilence750W

- dual 1080p 60hz

 

Hallo everybody,

 

Unfortunatly my R9 390 Nitro 8Gb gave up yesterday and I need an replacement for it.

I'm running a relativly old system but were more or less happy with it.

I don't play a lot of games but use the system more for productivty/development stuff.

 

A friend recommended the RX 9060XTX 16GB [~369€], but I'm uncertain if its the right choice.

In the best case the new GPU will hold up for the next few years.

I found multiple new RTX 3060 12GB [~270€], but I'm uncertain because they released in 2021

 

I'll guess I have to upgrade the other components in the future too.

Your friend is right. The RX 9060XT 16GB is a great choice, and performs better than the RTX 3060 12GB.
