I'm looking for an alternative to the Xbox Elite Controller. My main, non-negotiable ask is that I'm able to reassign the left analog stick forward input to the RB button so that clicking the RB button simulates pushing the stick forward. I can't seem to find any that accomplish this and state it clearly that it works like that. My wish list includes hall effect sticks (or something less prone to stick drift), wireless connectivity to PC (Xbox optional), USB C/External base charging (doesn't have to have this, but I like it), with the Xbox layout.

I've looked at the GameSir Super Nova, but I don't think I can map the analog stick to a button press like the Elite without external software like reWASD.

Maybe someone can get you exactly where you need to be. The closest I have is the Easy SMX line of controllers. I have a couple of X10 and X15s.

The (big) caveat is that you can't make the RB simulate the stick. But you can do what you want with one of the 2 back paddles, I just tested it.

They aren't as premium as an elite controller, but I think they're as good as a stock Xbox controller, and they are hall effect. I have an Elite 2, several Xbox controllers, and 3 SMX controllers, and the wife and I both opt for the 'no name' ones when gaming with a controller.

This is the X10, and the one I use personally.

The more research I do, the more I lean towards buying a used elite with stick drift and just sending it off to someone to get hall effect sticks installed. It seems like most 3rd party controller software just isn’t capable of putting an analog input on a digital button

Yep, that might be a nice option. Might consider that with my elite even, if (when) the drift comes. It does feel great in the hand, and I do appreciate the option to have 4 paddles in the back.

The main reason I grab the no name controller more often, is we've been switching games out a lot recently, and it let's me remap the paddles on the fly (on the controller itself) and not in software, which is super handy (though the profiles on the Elite helps with that too).

But yeah, I feel like you might struggle to find that specific functionality of mapping an axis to a button. I didn't really expect it to work on my EaseSMX controller when I tested it. I was surprised when it worked. I'll be keeping that in mind in the future for games that don't have an auto run option.
