anyone ever seen steam writing files to the wrong drive when installing an update and its taking forever like 2 hours for 10gbs

 

installing update for helldivers 2 that is installed on one of my ssds and yet when i go to task manager one of my hdd is being pegged at 100 percent and the drive the game is actualy on is at 0%

 

anyone seen this before and have a fix for it 

 

windows 11 btw

Does SSD have enough free space, could be swapping files while updating. That HDD doesn't seem well taking so long regardless. Can try unplugging it and see how it goes. Dying drive can cause slowdown issues across the board.
