PC/Console Compatible Headset Options

Greetings all,

I am looking for a mid-high quality headset that can be used with both PC and PS4. I know the PS4 is compatible with most USB headsets, but I am looking for a headset that has decent virtual surround sound on both platforms.

So far it seems my options are limited to Astro A40's, Sennheiser G4ME, Steelseries SIberia V2 USB, or Turtle Beach x7.

I have been using Siberia V2's for a very long time in combination with a Creative X-Fi Gamer card, but I am itching to try something new.

I was wanting everyone's input on what solution they recommend and why. I am also curious about the Sennheiser PC363D, but I am unsure if the USB soundcard that comes with that headset is compatible with PS4.

Thanks Everyone.

I actually went ahead and got a pair of G430's because they were on sale, but I am considering returning them as I am not very impressed. I can say with 100% confidence the Siberia v2's blow them out of the water. I may just do a store return cycle until I find something I like.

Do you have any recommendations?

Plantronics RIG is pretty good, but it doesn't have virtual surround if that's something you really think you need. Haven't listened to a V2 in a long time to directly compare.

Only problem with the PC363D is it's usually pretty expensive. Sound is supposedly equivalent to the HD558, so you'd be paying more than $100 for the added microphone

Yeah I know. I have never used them and always regarded them as something for console trash to use, but they have become so popular I figured I might give them a try....maybe not.

I am curious how the Steelseries 5Hv3 stacks up against the Siberia V2. Does anyone have any experience with both of them?
