Actually, the 7000 series is usually more expensive... The 7500F goes for a little less than the 8600G, and the difference does not make up for a used RX580. The 7600 is the same price or more expensive...

Also, the R5 8600 IGPU performance is equivalent to an RX580, and it can push the 200+ fps on Valorant and League of Legends, 100+ fps os CS2 and much more...

Wouldnt say theyre equivalent though 8700g is and thats with a garbage ram config at that (slow ddr5 6000) and presumably stock igpu clocks and vs a regular 580 and not a gpu thats effectively a higher clocked 570 (580 2048sp)

If you run your igpu to 3100+ and run at ddr5 8400+ the 8600g should atleast match the 580 but dont go hoping that igpu will match a 580 by default as it certainly wont, luckily igpu overclocking is dead easy (vsoc 1.3v) and ram overclocking should be similarly easy given the very good board and imc though 8400 seems to be about what most of these chips seem to be able to hit though if you can hit higher you might aswell

Hello! It's the first time I post anything and I hope I've done it right...

I need help building a PC. I have already selected a build, and I think it's very good, but I'm yet open for suggestions to improve it.

Here what I've chosen:

ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2
R5 8600G
32 GB RAM Kingston Fury Beast CL30 6000MT/s
MSI MAG A850Gl 80 Plus Gold
SSD WD Black SN770 500 GB
SSD SATA WD or Crucial 1T
Any Case.

The current price for that build is around 5.9k. (Expecting 4.5K on sale)

-------

I know every flaw of the R5 8600G, and I also know that an R5 5000 with an RX6600 or RX7600 would be much better.

The thing is, I want the newer platform, AM5, and I can't afford a AM5 CPU and a Modern GPU. Also, the 8600 allows me to play games (the ones I play) at competitive LVL (aka 120+ frames).

A GPU will come later; that's also why I've chosen this motherboard, as it will allow future upgrades with a much more demanding CPU to match the GPU. (Future = 2027 and beyond).

The PSU is also a future-proof choice. Also because there's just a R$100 difference from one with 650W.

That PC is supposed to last for a long time

1. Budget & Location

I will be getting it later in the year, on Christmas and Black Friday sales… Something between 4 and 5k.

I live in Brazil; our currency is the Real (R$). And I want everything brand new, no used components…

2. Aim: Gaming

Mostly simple/not demanding games, such as Valorant, League of Legends, Minecraft with mods, Terraria Calamity Mod, Stardew Valley, and Project Zomboid…

3. Monitors

I just need 2 monitors, one with 60 Hz for drawing, reading, coding, etc., and another with a higher frame rate for gaming. And Full HD is good enough.

Planing on getting one and later the other one.

 4. Peripherals

Although, I'm probably not getting good peripherals right after buying the PC. I really want something wireless, but I don't think it's feasible without spending a lot (1K or more).

Something that's good and reliable is enough, even if it has cables.

5. Why are you upgrading?

I have a laptop (a Samsung Expert X40), and it's already showing its age, struggling to play Terraria, and requiring several performance mods to run Minecraft smoothly.

8600g has a competent igpu and the board does allow for ideal ddr5 8400+ but if you want less hassle ironcally you are better off getting an 8400f with a used rx 570/580 8gb and if your country is one of those that has overpriced 8600gs where its more than a 7500f/7600 itd be outright stupid to go for the 8600g over a 7500f/7600 + used rx 580 as both cpu and gpu perform better

otherwise just make sure the ram is 6000c30/32 then run igpu at 3100+ and ddr5 8400+ while tedious shouldnt be too hard given the very good board and imc and performance should start to near rx 570/580 levels with added bonus of lower power consumption

last stable driver for 480 and 580 was last year. It wont be a problem now but itll be later. If OP goes this route i would
1. Get the 7500F instead, itll be similarly priced.

2. Make sure to save the money up when kernel level anticheats inevitably block 24.9.1 Adrenalin from running.
