I have just upgraded my cpu from some athlon x4 to a ryzen 5 5500, and now it doesn’t boot. I have cleaned the memory sticks, and tried different memory sticks. And I have reseated the cpu and replaced the cmos battery.

Would there be any further things I should try before replacing anything??

Did you update the BIOS of the motherboard so that it supports Ryzen 5000?

The 5000 series chips are usually only supported with a bios update

MY PC:

Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core PBO Enabled

ASUS RTX 4070 DUAL OC

Asus Prime x570 Pro Motherboard

Kingston Fury Beast 128GB RAM 4 Slots

Fractal Design Case

EVGA 80+ Gold 800W PSU
